Abstract

The goal of this paper is to reflect on how the social struggles of the underclass address and question social work, in the understanding that this relationship is the condition for arguing the significance and social direction of our professional intervention. This is not a lesser question, if we recognize the prevalence of institutional demands aimed at appeasement of class conflict and the resistance of those below, which correspond to strategies for confronting the “social question” in the code of counter-insurgency.
